Welcome to
WNY Pollinator Project!
Mission
The WNY Pollinator Project is dedicated to protecting and supporting pollinators through education, advocacy, and inspiring community action. Pollinators are vital to our food systems, ecosystems, and everyday lives—and everyone can make a difference. Whether it's planting native flowers, avoiding pesticides, or creating safe habitats, every small action helps our pollinators thrive.
Vision
Our vision is a thriving Western New York where pollinators flourish in healthy, connected habitats across urban, suburban, and rural landscapes. We envision a community where individuals, schools, businesses, and local governments work together to protect pollinators and restore native ecosystems—ensuring a sustainable and vibrant environment for future generations.
GOALS

EDUCATE:
Being educated about what pollinators are, what they do, and how to best support them is the first step to aiding in their survival. Our survival depends on them. The more you know, the better you can help!

ADVOCATE:
When you understand more about pollinators and their vital role in humankind’s survival, you can help advocate for their survival by educating others and petitioning our leaders to pass laws to help support them.

INSPIRE ACTION:
Once you know how important pollinators are it’s hard not to want to do something to help them. Everyone can take simple steps to make their survival easier. No amount of help is too little.
My Story
I launched the WNY Pollinator Project in 2022 as a means to educate people about the importance of supporting pollinators. As an educator and avid gardener, I decided to spread the word about pollinators and connect with like-minded individuals. Thanks for being here! -Gretchen Squier
